Pratihik Vijan of Maharastra bowled brilliantly to score 1290 pinfall (average: 215) to move up to overall 6th position and to stay in contention to reach the top four. Shabbir kept his good run going, producing 197, 235, 176, 209, 190 and 183 to record 5007 pin falls at 208.63. Karnataka's Aakash Ashok Kumar is in fourth spot behind Shashikumar with a total of 4850 at 202.08.
In the women’s section, Prathima Hegde, who started with two low scores of 163 & 169, recovered to score 193, 254, 188 and 185 to reach a total of 2252 after 12 games (average: 187.67) to lead the pack.
Sabeena scored 2237 at 186.42 to come with striking distance of Prathima. Nicole Campbell of Maharashtra jumped to the third spot with a tally of 2093 at 174.42.
The top 12 among men and women will play four games on long oil and four on short oil on Saturday to decide the top four in each category.
