So much so that, the regular strollers at Kukkarahalli Lake were welcomed by the locked gates much to their surprise. It all began with leopard found to have been spotted by a security guard at Prasaranga on Hunsur road here on Thursday around 8.45 pm.
He was having dinner at the watch post when he found the big cat near a bush. He soon alerted the police control room. According to another guard, the leopard was seen again in the wee hours but on the road beside Senate Hall in Manasagangotri.
Following this forest officers visited the spot on Friday to collect the pug marks, if any.
The gates at Kukkarahalli that were closed as a precautionary measure, were finally opened after the intervention of MLA Sa Ra Mahesh.
