Veteran athlete Jayamma passes away

Jayamma (50), who was serving as a Sub-Inspector here, was under treatment for the last two months in Bangalore and returned to her house only a couple of days ago, family sources said.

She has represented India and won medals in XVIII World Master Athletic Championship held in Lahti in 2009, 12th Asian Level Veteran Athletic Championship in China, Asian Level Master Atheletics held in Bangalore, 13th Master Asian Athletics held in Bangkok and 15th Malaysia Open Veteran Athletic Championship.
