<p>Making the announcement at the culmination of his Jan Chetana Yatra, BJP patriarch L K Advani said on Sunday called for the ouster of the Congress-led UPA government.<br /><br />“The fog hanging over politics due to corruption of government will not vanish automatically. <br /><br />It will go due to public awareness, pressure of people, and if not, then by change of regime and that situation has arisen,” Advani told a huge rally at the historic Ramlila Maidan in the national capital at the conclusion of his 40-day Yatra, Advani said. The BJP leader, who spoke from the saffron and green colour stage, where top BJP and NDA leaders as well as AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha’s emissary M Thambidurai were seated, showed no sign of fatigue after his 7,000-km long tour that criss-crossed the country.<br /><br />Advani said the declaration would read: “I solemnly declare that I don’t have directly or indirectly any bank account or asset illegally held outside India.”<br /><br />Enthused with the presence of 50,000-strong crowd at the Maidan that has in recent past become the favourite venue for anti-Congress protests, Advani, who was at his oratorial best said even though his yatra has ended but the fight against corruption will continue. <br /><br />The 84-year-old leader, who toured 22 states and five Union Territories during his sixth Yatra said corruption is rampant because of lack of political will to fight graft. <br /><br />“Today there is rampant corruption not because we don’t have strong anti-graft law, but because there is lack of political will to fight corruption,” Advani said. He also favoured a strong Lokpal bill and said he would ascertain the progress made by the parliamentary Standing Committee on the issue.<br /><br /></p>
