The minimum temperature was 14.6 degree Celsius. It rose to 27.5 degree Celsius later in the day to make the weather warm.

The sudden appearance of fog resulted in a slight disruption of normal life in the national capital.

The dense fog in early morning forced 12 trains to be delayed. It also caused one minor accident at Dadri near Greater Noida suburb when a goods train collided with a container train. However, no injury was reported. The Indian Metrological Department in its forecast, has predicted a clear sky for the capital on Monday.

Foggy conditions also reduced visibility in parts of Punjab and Haryana, affecting movement of vehicular traffic. As visibility dropped in the wee hours, traffic moved slowly on National Highway No 1 in Karnal and Ambala in Haryana. Haze also prevailed in some other parts of the state, including Hisar. Foggy conditions also prevailed in some parts of Punjab.

Over the past few years, fog had prevailed in northern states in December but this time it has come early.
