Competitions were conducted on November 14, mini sports meet on November 15 and ‘Cubs and Bulbuls Utsav’ on November 16.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Malleswaram, was the venue for the ‘Cluster Level Co-curricular Activities’. The students, belonging to the cluster comprising KV IISc, KV Hebbal, KV MG Rly and KV Malleswaram, assembled at the venue to take part in the various competitions that were organised. Students took part in literary, music and art events with great enthusiasm.

Recitation in English and Hindi, storytelling in Hindi and English, calligraphy, memory test, drawing and painting were some of the individual events and action song, group song and group dance were the group events.

About 84 students from each school got a chance to exhibit their talents and win prizes for their school. The programme aimed at providing opportunities to students to participate in large numbers.  It was an endeavour to live up to the vision of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru for children as he felt that children are the real strength of a country and the very foundation of society.

The students were given the message of the Olympic Games which says that the most important thing in the games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well. The students made a silent resolution to strive for the best, irrespective of winning or losing.

At the end of the day, each kid had a smile on his or her face as each one took home a prize.
