However, her inclusion comes as a surprise as she seems clueless about the game or any kind of sport. She earnestly says, “To be honest, I don’t know much about cricket. I was a science student so I never got much time to play. I’m here to support my friends who are playing for the team.”

However, she is enthusiastic about endorsing the team and says she will cheer for them. “I will dance to Salman’s Mein Karu Toh Sala Character Dheela Hai from the movie ‘Ready’ and Saddi Gali from ‘Tanu Weds Manu’,” she says.

While the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) had a good run last year, ‘Mumbai Heroes’ didn’t win any match. The team’s captain Suniel Shetty informs, “CCL is now a bigger franchise and will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, UAE, on January 13. ‘Mumbai Heroes’ is slated to play two games thereafter the opening ceremony.” The brand ambassadors will be present in Sharjah for these matches.

The other teams include ‘Chennai Rhinos’ lead by South superstar Surya, ‘Karnataka Bulldozers’ by Kiccha Sudeep and ‘Telugu Warriors’ under captain Venkatesh with an addition of two new teams — ‘Kerala Strikers’ co-owned by National Award winner Mohanlal, director Priyadarshan and his wife Lizzy, and ‘Bengal Tigers’ owned by Boney Kapoor and Sridevi.

Salman’s team line-up is impressive and includes Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, Sonu Sood, Mahesh Manjrekar and Apoorva Lakhia among others.
