The movie will go on floors soon with Ajay producing it and Rohit Shetty directing it.

Ajay recently acquired the Hindi remake rights of Agni Natchathiram, which was held by V G Entertainment Ltd. “I am thrilled to direct Agni Natchathiram in Hindi. It has a fantastic storyline and is a highly energetic movie. It will be a blockbuster in Hindi as well,” said Rohit Shetty.

Agni Natchathiram, directed by the renowned film-maker Mani Ratnam in 1988, was one of the biggest blockbusters of that time. The award-winning movie featured the acclaimed actor Prabhu Ganesan, the son of Shivaji Ganesan, in the lead role, which will be essayed by Ajay in Hindi.

The search for the female lead and supporting cast is in progress. The technical crew is not yet finalised.

“Ajay Devgan has been my favourite Hindi film star. I am very happy to have shared the remake rights of Agni Natchathiram with him. I am eager to see the Hindi version on the big screen. This is my second venture with Rohit Shetty in Hindi, and we hope to complete a hat-trick soon,” said L Vijay, CEO, V G Entertainment Ltd.

The Ajay Devgan-Rohit Shetty combination has delivered several hits films in the past.
Agni Natchathiram is destined to become another such successful venture with the focus being on the star cast and technical crew.
