Four more suspected cases have also been reported in the district.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, DHO Dr Ramachandra Bayari said those tested positive are from Shimoga and Manipal respectively. As many as 14 persons infected with H1N1 virus have been cured and discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, no cases have been reported in Mangalore on Friday.
One confirmed in Bijapur
One confirmed case of H1N1 is reported in the district and the patient is being treated with Tamiflu tablets, informed District Health and Family Welfare officer.
In a press release, he said that the throat swab of the patient was sent for investigation to NIMHANS Bangalore on August 16 as the patient showed signs of Swine Flu. The clinical indications pointed that it was nearly a sure case of the disease and hence the doctors administered the Tamiflu tablets.
13 suspected cases
He informed that 13 suspected cases were reported in the district and the throat swab of all the patients were sent for investigation to NIMHANS. All the suspected patients were given Tamiflu and are recovering, he said in the release.
