Police said, the duo, identified as Yallappa (37) and Mohammed Ibrahim alias Hazrath (35), both residents of Jigani in Anekal Taluk were arrested with two dentines of pachyderm. The smugglers were searching for ‘clients’, when the police caught them with the consignment.
The value of the tusks in the international market is said to be around Rs 1.5 lakh. While a hunt is on for their accomplice Peter, who is at large, a case under various sections of the IPC and Wildlife Conservation Act has been registered against the smugglers.
