MLA starts road devt work

The road will be developed by KRDCL through IVRPL at the cost of Rs 42.35 crore. The work on the road was flagged off at Viraktha Mutt at Thorenoor.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the people of the region were demanding development of the road for the last several years. The road will be developed in 18 months.

He urged the contractors to take up quality work and directed the villagers to keep a watch on the quality of the work being executed.He said the PG centre will be set up at Chikkaluvar.

Sainik School will come up at Kudige. The government has released more than Rs 300 crore for the integrated development of the district.

The MLA said a sum of Rs 29 crore has been released for Harangi irrigation project, of which, Rs four crore will be utilised for laying a park, Rs 12 crore for the development of canals.

Taluk Panchayat President V K Lokesh, Thorenoor GP President T K Vasanth, and others were present.
