Bureaucrats advised to quicken administration

Village development should be prime concern

He was speaking after inaugurating the Janaspandana programme at the Chowdeshwari Highschool at Ammanallur village on Saturday.

“The gram panchayaths should give priority to village development. No borewells are installed in the taluk since past 3 months. Officials should understand the sensitivity of the issue and act accordingly and take up developmental works” he said.

He also advised them to approve the list of beneficiaries of those below BPL for sanctioning housing,  within 8 days. The programme for taking photos for issuing ration cards  has been started at the hobli level and arrangements should be made to take photos at the village itself to avoid discomfort to those who stay in far away villages, he suggested to tahsildars.
Taluk panchayath president Udayshankar who presided over the function said officials from 35 departments had visited the village and asked the villagers to consult them to solve their problems.

 Zilla panchayath member Naganal Somanna pointed out the problem faced by the farmers since rains had failed. There is also shortage of electricity. However more importance is given to develop Vemagal area, he said.

T Rajanna of Tappenahalli and B Krishnappa of M Mallandahalli were handed over subsidy cheques for Rs 75,000 each under the Catalytic Development project from Sericulture Department.

Under Bhagyalakshmi scheme 17 bonds  were distributed.

As many as 350 beneficiaries received disability bonds and old age pensions.
TP CEO A Manjunath, tahsildar S M Mangala and other taluk level officials were present.
