Three anti-graft bills get Cabinet nod

The bills include the Citizen's Charter Bill, Judicial Accountability Bill and the Public Interest Disclosure and Protection to Persons Making the Disclosures Bill (Whistleblower's Bill)

The government’s quick cabinet decision on the three anti-corruption followed its quick move to put on pause its earlier decision followed after it had to put on pause  its crucial cabinet decision on Foreign Direct Investment in retail sector

Ahead of the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and senior Congress ministers discussed the anti-graft bills, sources said. TheJudicial Accountability and the Whistleblower's bills have been amended to incorporate some of the recommendations made by the Parliamentary Standing Committee. Judicial Accountability Bill provides for guide for judicial conduct while whistleblower’s bill gives security witnesses.
