The plane made a safe landing at the Meenambakkam airport and all the passengers were safe, airport sources said.

The tyre had burst when the A 319 aircraft was taking off at the Singapore airport, they said.

Singapore airport officials, who found some pieces of tyre on the runway after the flight had taken off, had alerted the pilot about the tyre burst.

The pilot had then informed the Chennai Air Traffic Controller about the suspected tyre burst.

Consequently, arrangements were made for the safe landing of the flight and the flight made a safe touch down ten minutes behind it scheduled arrival time, they said.
After the aircraft landed, officials found that one of the tyres of the main undercarriage had burst.
