Auditorium in memory of Pu Thi Na soon

An auditorium and a statue in memory of Pampa awardee Pu Thi Narasimhachar would be inaugurated at Melkote in Pandavapura taluk of the district on December 30.

Jnanpith awardee Chandrashekara Kambara would inaugurate the auditorium, built at an approximate cost of Rs one crore.

The work on the auditorium began in 2009 by Pu Thi Na trust. The auditorium can seat up to 500 spectators. The statue of Narasimhachar would be located next to the auditorium. The place would also act as a platform for selling desi goods. Department of Kannada and culture secretary Manu Baligar will unveil the statue on December 30.

Saraswathi Samman awardee S L Bhyrappa, MP Jayashree, MLA C S Puttaraju and others would participate in the programme.

A veena recital would be held in the evening of December 30 at 6 pm followed by a dance ballet at 7 pm. On December 31, classical music and documentary on Narasimhachar would be screened.
