The government will sanction necessary funds for the development of the damaged roads in Kodagu, said PWD Minister C M Udasi.

He was speaking to the reporters during his visit to Kushalnagar to review the developmental work on Monday. The government is releasing funds for the development of State Highways and district roads in phases.

The Department has given utmost priority to quality of work. Actions will be taken against the contractors if the government receives complaints from the public regarding the poor quality of work, said the Minister.

Task force

While reviewing the development work with the local leaders in Kushalnagar guest house he said that a Task Force has been formed to inspect the road construction work. “The contractors who have been given the task of constructing the road should maintain the roads for a period of six years,” he said.

The residents complained to the Minister about the poor quality of roads in the district. Responding to this Udasi said that the quality of the road becomes poor if the bitumen is not mixed and laid on the road at the right time. The people should observe the ongoing road construction work and should bring it to the notice of the officials concerned immediately, he insisted.

Piriyapattana MLA K Venkatesh, ZP member B B Bhrathish, Madikeri Assembly BJP Unit President M N Kumarappa and others held discussion with the Minister.
