Telgi, who is currently lodged at the Parappana Agrahara jail here was produced in court by the Adugodi police as a body warrant had been issued against him, a few days earlier.
In a memo filed in the court of Judge Arali Nagaraj, Telgi said that ever since he came back from the hospital after undergoing dialysis treatment for a month, he was being provided with food as per the diet chart given by the doctors. He further stated that the entire food expenses were being borne by the jail authorities. Since it was a difficult task for the jail authorities to provide the food as per the diet chart, he requested for home food. The matter has been adjourned to September 3.
Later speaking to reporters, Telgi said that his autobiography was nearing completion and would run into nearly 1,600 pages. He also said that his wife was gravely ill.
