Filmmaker's plea dismissed

She had contended that her film ‘Jambada Hudugi,’ which had run for 100 days was not even considered among the list of 26 films, while three films –– ‘Aa Dinagalu’, ‘Avva’ and ‘Shivani’ were chosen for subsidy, despite them having been given adult certification.
The Court had issued a notice to the Information Department last Thursday.

An objection was filed by the government on Tuesday, saying that the State went by the recommendations of the Expert Committee headed by Siddalingaiah.

Judge Mohan Shantana Goudar, who heard the case, observed that the High Court could not act as an appellate over the committee as it was a policy matter.
