Rs 2.40 cr released for road asphaltation

Speaking after inaugurating the asphalting civil works of City roads here, the minister advised the contractors to implement quality works and not merely paint the roads.

He also announced that an amount of Rs 18 crore has been released for Chikballapur City Municipal Council under the small and medium town development projects.
This amount will be utilised for district development works, said.

Deputy Commissioner Anvar Pasha said the district administration has placed much importance on development of district centre.

Steps have been taken to assure no blockades hinder the works, the deputy commissioner said.

CMC president M Prakash said the asphalting of City roads has been taken up after 12 years and assured all cooperation from the members of CMC.

Zilla Panchayat member G R Narayana Swamy, Taluk Panchayat member K R Reddy, City Municiapal Council vice-president Ramadevi, BJP leader Gokul Nanjappa, town planning director Prabhudev and several other important leaders were present on the occasion.
