Grand ensemble

Iskcon Sri Radha Krishna Temple is presenting Swagatham Krishna, a grand musical ensemble by Suma Sudhindra and Aanuru Anantha Krishna Sharma on January 1, 11 am to 1 pm at Iskcon Sri Radha Krishna Mandir, Harekrishna Hill, Chord Road.

Soothing strains
Veena Doreswamy Iyeng­ar Memorial Trust and A­na­nya will present a vocal rec­ital by Anil Narasimha ac­companied by Ajay Narasimha (violin), Aanuru Anantha Krishna Sharma (mridangam) on December 31, 10.30 am. The venue is Ananya Sabhangana, 91/2, 4th Main, Malleswaram.

Carnatic fest
Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira is presenting a feast of Carnatic music in January and February in memory of G V Ranganayakamma and G V Vijayalakshmi, chief founders of the institution, who passed away recently. The festival will commence from January 1, 5.45 pm at Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira Concert Hall, with a performance by Aishwarya Shankar, a young musician accompanied on violin by B Vittala Rangan and on mridangam by Akshy Anand.

The festival will be held till January 13 and will feature performances by renowned Carnatic musicians — Prince Ramavarma of Travancore, Sandeep Narayan, D B Ashvin, V Vijay Arun, Vani Satish, Ramakrishnan Murthy,  Adoor Sudarshan, L V Mukund and N R Prashanth and Kiranavali Vidyashankar. Entry is free

Musical treat
Ananya is presenting, Sangeetha Sandhya, a musical evening by artists from across the State on January 1, 5 pm onwards at JSS Auditorium, 1st Main Road, 38th Cross, 8th Block, Jayanagar. Vocalist T Srinivas, accompanied by M R Manjula on the veena, R Rajkumar and Bhaskar on the dolu will perform from 5 pm to 6 pm.

This will be followed by an instrumental fusion from 6 pm to 7 pm by D Srinivas Achar on guitar, Varijashri on flute, Umesh on keyboard, Caleb on bass guitar, Venugopal Raju on tabla, Amrit on kanjari and konnakol.

The programme will conclude with a percussion ensemble. The concert is in aid of Ananya Arogyadhara, a health helpline for musicians. For details, call 9980991110.

Fine strokes
An exhibition of paintings by Thota Vaikuntam, Sreekanth Kurva, Yashwant Shirwadkar, Shankar Kendale, Puneeth M and Madhuri D will be held till December 31 at Renaissance Gallerie.

Suparna Venkatesh, on December 31, 6.15 pm at Seva Sadan, Malles­waram.
