Nodal officers to monitor quality of education

The State government has appointed nodal officers for all the districts exclusively to monitor effective implementation of schemes related to improving quality of education.

Senior officers of the Department of Public Instructions have been appointed as nodal officers and each has been given the responsibility of one or two districts. The officers have to tour the respective districts once 15 days and guide implementation of the schemes. They should also submit a report to the commissioner within a week of their visit.

The nodal officers must compulsorily visit at least five schools, offices of block education officers and deputy directors of public instruction to verify the achievement of target, disposal of files etc. During their visit to schools, the officers should check the attendance of students, the quality of education and reach of government schemes to the target population.
