The Centre has sought legal opinion from Attorney General G E Vahanvati to guide it on the contentious question of challenging the special TADA court ruling that dropped charges against actor-turned-politician Sanjay Dutt.
The Law Ministry has sent a letter to Vahanvati seeking his advice and the letter has been referred to Solicitor General Gopal Subramaniam. Dutt had challenged the conviction order before the apex court along with other convicts of the 1993 Mumbai blasts.
