Cash and liquor have been flowing freelyduring the run up to the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

These have been used to woo the electorate despite stepped up vigil across the state and its borders. The authorities say they are trying their best to prevent the use of black money in the polls.

The authorities have so far seized Rs 25 crore and a large quantity of liquor in different parts of UP in the past few days.

Every day huge amount of cash is being recovered from different parts of the state. “The recoveries are huge even in small places. At least Rs 1,51 crore was recovered from a vehicle in Amethi,'' police said.

The EC has directed officials to keep a watch on the movement of unaccounted cash.
