Youth stabbed to death

A 21-year-old youth was stabbed to death by unidentified people on Sunday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Lakshmikanth, a resident of Arjunabettalli in Nelamangala taluk.

The suspects accosted Lakshmikanth while he was heading to Nelamangala on his bike. They picked up a fight with him, stabbed him with a dagger and sped away. Lakshmikantha died on the spot, said the police. A few local residents informed the police about a body lying on the road.

“It’s not a murder for gain as cash and mobile were intact with the victim. The police are trying to ascertain identity of the murderers and their motive,” the police said. The body was handed over to the parents after the post mortem at Nelamangala government hospital.
