Yours Truly Theatre is presenting an interactive theatre performance called Masala Improv Comedy at Yours Truly ALMA, CMH Road, Indiranagar on January 22, 7 pm.

It is a purely improvisational theatre performance where actors enact reactions given to them by the audience. ‘The Prophet...’

Bangalore Little Theatre’s ‘The Prophet and the Poet’ will be staged at Alliance Française auditorium on January 29, 7 pm.
It is a play based on the exchange of letters and articles between Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore over 25 years, with the Indian freedom struggle as the backdrop. Entry is free.

‘Nayee Kathe’

Samashti, a Kannada theatre troupe, will stage the play Nayee Kathe, written by Chandrashekar Kambar and directed by Ravindra Poojary, at Ranga Shankara on January 24, 7.30 pm.

Street plays

Aviskara will be organising 16th Beedinatakotsava, a festival of street plays, on January 20, 21 and 22, 6 pm, at Malleswaram Playground. On the first day, Ankura will enact the play Vimukti Payana.

Yuvajana Samskrutika Vedike will be staging the plays Bharata Khanda Darshana and Mannaada Mannina Makkalu on the second day. Aviskara will present Courtinalli Gedda Kudure and Karnataka Kala Darshini will enact Matte Matte Shakunatala in yakshagana style on the third day. 

‘The Memorandum’

Rafiki will be staging a production of Vaclav Havel’s ‘The Memorandum’ from January 31 to February 2, 7.30 pm at Ranga Shankara. Vaclav Havel, an acclaimed playwright, a
humanitarian and the first President of the Czech Republic, passed away recently.
The play is directed by Sachin Gurjale. Tickets are available at www.indianstage.in, www.bookmyshow.com and the venue.
