A gown can never let you down

How did it feel to be showstopper at the first Kolkata Fashion Week?

It was wonderful and beyond my expectations. We tend to take the Delhi and Mumbai fashion weeks for granted. Every Bollywood actor, including me, has this attitude that if we can't walk the ramp this year, then may be we will the next year. But this is the first time that Kolkata has the fashion week, so it’s special. Moreover, the audience has been extremely supportive. I hope this eagerness stays in the future too.

Just before the show you said it was love at first sight when you saw the gown…
I definitely can’t run a marathon wearing this lovely dress (see pic), but I can definitely walk with panache to a very, very fashionable event, even to an international gala red carpet event.

How would you define your fashion sense?
Comfort is what I look for. I love the casual chic look, which is very different from this exotic gown that I'm wearing! But whatever you wear, you must have the confidence to carry it off. .

Why are Bollywood stars in such demand as showstoppers?
That’s because Bollywood is all about being fashionable. Besides, people’s buying preference is hugely inspired by what we actors wear.
