Senior BJP leaders meet RSS top brass

Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley is understood to have carried a message from senior leader L K Advani to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Jaitley reached the RSS office after holding meeting with Advani. M Venkaiah Naidu and Ananth Kumar were the other leaders who reached the RSS headquarters.

Sources said besides Bhagwat, senior RSS functonaries including Suresh Soni, Madan Das Devi and Manmohan Vaidya were also present in the meeting. It is learnt that the RSS and BJP leaders discussed the future course of action against the backdrop of bitter infighting plaguing the party.

While BJP leaders have met RSS top brass individually, it is for the first time that have held a meeting with it in a group. Last night, BJP President Rajnath Singh had met Bhagwat and discussed the situation in the party.

He also briefed the RSS chief about the outcome of the 'chintan baithak' held last week.
Advani is likely to call on Bhagwat tomorrow. Rajnath Singh yesterday Bhagwat and is understood to have discussed the escalating internal squabbles plaguing the party during their nearly 90-minute discussion.
