Buses to be diverted during Republic Day parade rehearsals

Keeping in view the blockade of some of the arterial roads in Lutyens’ zone due to the Republic Day rehearsal on January 20 and 21, the Delhi Transport Corporation has decided to change some of its bus routes for smooth operation and convenience of the commuters.

“Routes of over 100 buses have been changed as per traffic plan for Friday and Saturday. People are requested to follow the advisory to avoid inconvenience,” said Sharat Kumar, Senior Manager (PR).
As per the diversions, buses on route no 451, 480, 500, 520, 540 and 581 coming from Sri Aurbindo Marg on their way to Central Secretariat or Connaught Circus shall proceed on K Kamraj Marg and terminate at Krishna Menon Marg.

The return journey of these buses would be via Raja Ji Marg, the DTC official said. Similarly, buses on route no 400 and 430 coming from Sri Aurbindo Marg-South End Road and headed to Central Secretariat will run via Janpath, take left turn to Maulana Azad Road and will terminate at Nirman Bhavan. The return journey of the buses on these routes would be via Motilal Nehru Marg, Janpath and then on to their usual route.

Buses on route 326, 335, 336, 344, 375, 623, 623A coming from Vikas Marg and headed for south Delhi will run via Mathura Road, S Bharti Marg, and then on to their usual route in both the directions.
Buses on route no 40, 166, 181, 181A,408, 410, 459, 490, 894 and 970B coming from Mathura Road, Dr Zakir Hussian Marg and heading Connaught Place will run via Mathura Road and further on their usual route in both the direction.

“Several other routes have been diverted and the commuters are advised to check with the conductors before boarding a bus,” the DTC official added.
