CM’s support
“The members of the Prince Dance Group have already won the hearts of millions of Indians. They would now be going out of the country to conquer the world,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced at a function at the state Secretariat to felicitate the members of the group.

Incidentally, majority of the members hail from the families of daily wage earners and migrant labourers. Patnaik said the group would also perform during the National Youth Festival scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar in January next year.

Commonwealth event
The chief minister added he would soon write to Union Sports Minister K P S Gill to permit the group to perform during the Commonwealth Games scheduled to be held in Delhi next year.

The principal choreographer and leader of the group, Krishna Reddy, said the group would try its best to live up to the fans’ expectations during its sojourn abroad.
“We will try hard to give our best performance. We will not disappoint our fans. We will make the country proud”, Krishna said.

According to sources close to the dance group, a number of associations of non-resident Indians (NRIs) in various countries have invited it to showcase its skills abroad.
