Drought relief works: CM denies delay in using Central funds

Speaking to reporters on Friday at Manvi, Yeddyurappa, who was here to attend Sri Jagannathadasara 200 years Aradhana Mahotsav and inauguration of a 100-bed hospital at Manvi taluk of Raichur district, the chief minister said that he had directed to release funds for taking up drought relief works in the State Cabinet meeting held at Gulbarga on Thursday.

Threat of submergence

Yeddyurappa said to construct bridges for Dattatreya temple and Channamallikarjuna Peetha which are facing threat of submergence, the State government will release additional Rs 15 crore along with the Andhra Government, which has released Rs 22 crore for the same. Regarding the illegal irrigation projects of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Yeddyurappa said that action will be taken for proper utilisation of Krishna river water and the matter will be discussed with the Andhra Pradesh chief minister, if required.
