In a dispute over parking a personal security guard shot at another guard in west Delhi, police said on Sunday.

Police arrested the accused while he was trying to flee. The incident took place in East Punjabi Bagh on Saturday night. The accused Rajbir Sharma, who hails from Sonepat in Haryana, was arrested by a beat constable while he was trying to flee after firing a gunshot at a security guard of the area, said V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (west).

Sharma, an employee of Metro security services, working as a personal guard of a builder of East Punjabi Bagh, was in a dispute with the victim – Naresh over parking for last few months. Naresh, a resident of Shakarpur in east Delhi, is also a security guard in East Punjabi Bagh.

Saturday night Sharma and Naresh had a heated argument over the parking issue. “Sharma in anger fired a shot, from .32 bore revolver, at Naresh. The victim tried to save himself but the bullet hit at his leg,” said Renganathan.

The beat officers, on patrolling duty, rushed to the spot and overpowered Sharma.
