Eight held for chain snatching

The accused are Vinod Kumar, M Arun Kumar, SM Suden, R Appu, Satish Kumar, Pavan Kumar, C Narayan and S Madhu. The accused would accost lonely women in desolate places, threaten them with lethal weapons and rob them of their valuables. They were involved in chain snatching incidents in Jnanabharathi, Vijaynagar, Magadi Road and Amruthalli police limits. They had also lifted a bike from Lakshmipuram in Mysore.

Thieves nabbed

The Yelahanka New Town police arrested two persons in connection with a theft case and recovered jewellery and other articles worth Rs 55,000.

The accused are Ayub and Shanmug, both residents of Chintamani.

The duo struck at the house of one Ramachandra when he was away from the house in January and fled with jewellery and cash, said the police.

Domestic help arrested

A domestic help was arrested on the charge of theft by the Kothanur police recently. The stolen jewellery worth Rs 5.25 was recovered from the accused Meenakshi, a resident of Dasarahalli in Hebbal. The police said, the accused used a duplicate key to open the wardrobe and steal.
