Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy said on Monday that the BJP government should dissolve the Assembly and face the elections, if it had confidence about the development works undertaken by it.

The government had totally neglected the development of the State as the party was busy with its internal strife, he said.

He told reporters that the internal strife in the BJP had reached its peak and the chances of the government completing its full term were very bleak.

The JD(S) would face the next elections independently. It would field candidates in all 224 constituencies and win at least 150 seats. The people of the State had decided to give an opportunity to Kumaraswamy this time, he said.

“To strengthen the JD(S), I will start a Statewide tour on February 10 from Chamarajanagar. Mega conventions would be held at five places. Actor Pooja Gandhi was inducted into the JD(S) not to enhance the glamour of the party, but because she has a pro-people attitude and is interested in social service. I am the most glamorous person in JD(S),” he said.

Kumaraswamy also criticised the ‘Hindu Shakti Sangam’ camp of the RSS to be held in Hubli, saying the exercise was meaningless.
