Nikshep enters final

Top seed Nikshep BR recorded his second double bagel of the Asian Junior Series under-14 tennis tournament to waltz his way into the final here on Thursday.

In control right from the onset of the game, Bangalore’s Nikshep was at his very best, thumping a clueless seventh seed Raghav Jaisinghani 6-0, 6-0 in a lop-sided semifinal encounter at the Jain International Residential School.

In the title round on Friday, Nikshep will take on fourth-seeded Bijay Mohanty, who accounted for second seed Alex Solanki with a gritty 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 victory.

Nikshep also set himself for a grand double when he and Solanki breezed past Kalyanpur-Vannam Reddy pair 6-1, 6-0 in the doubles semifinal. Nikshep and Solanki will lock horns with Sanil Jagtiani and Somani Parikshit, who downed Raghav Jaisinghani and Jeevan V 6-3, 6-3, in the summit clash.
