<p>“The news reports regarding talks with the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and the NDA are totally baseless”, a BSP spokesman said quoting Mayawati here in a press release. <br /><br />The spokesman also refuted reports that the BSP supremo had sent feelers to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi for fixing a meeting with her. <br /><br />“The news item that appeared in a section of the press suggesting that Mayawati had sent a message through her brother Anand to the political secretary of Sonia Gandhi to meet her is totally false, baseless and mischievous”, he said.<br /><br />The spokesman said Mayawati had not sent any such message to meet Sonia through her (Mayawati) brother. <br /><br />He said that such rumours were being spread by the opposition parties under a conspiracy. <br /></p>
