''Work hard and talk little. Have an aim, a goal and a dream. Visualise your dream,'' advised Nitte University Vice Chancellor Dr Shantaram Shetty after inaugurating ‘Imprints 2011,’ the science fest of St Aloysius College at the college auditorium on Wednesday.

“Have a motivation from within, instead of having reward and fear as motivators. Today’s youth are tomorrow’s future,” he said.

Presiding over the programme, St Aloysius Institutions Rector Rev Fr Joseph Rodrigues SJ said that the events are conceived, planned and conceptualised by the students.

“In every field of human endeavour, there is a need for a constant upgardation.
Today we live in a global world, where science plays a major role. There is a need to question on who benefits from the scientific knowledge produced by us. While seeking development, we should also keep the less fortunate in our mind,” he said.

Imprints is organised on the theme, ‘Science fiction.... The innovative reality.’ The two-day fiesta will have different events such as ‘The Meltdown’ (Ice Breaker), ‘Wall-E’ (Newsletter), ‘The Matrix’ (Physical science event), ‘Sci-Fantasy’ (Awareness competition), ‘Pirates of the Arabian’ (Treasure hunt), ‘Techyyz Showdown VZO’ (Computer science event), ‘Survivor’ (Life science event), ‘The knowledge bowl’ (Quiz), ‘The Star Wars’ (Imprints personality), ‘War of Words’ (Debate), ‘Trasnformers’ (Exhibition).
