Man probed in Nitin case

A day after Nitin Maini, a 31-year-old physically challenged man in Rohini, was arrested for killing his wife and son, the police on Saturday claimed to have questioned a man who was allegedly having an affair with the woman, Shweta.

Police have not disclosed his identity.

“He knew Maini for the last three years. He had helped get Nitin’s younger brother Rohit get a job. Then he and Shweta became close after she started working with an NGO in Laxmi Nagar,” said Jasmeet Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sultanpuri. Police said the man rejected Nitin’s claim that he married Shweta last month.

Nitin told police that Shweta was having an extra-marital relationship with the man. He killed her in a fit of rage, police said.
