Newlywed commits suicide

A newly married woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at KP Agrahara.

Police have identified the dead as Radha, wife of Sreenivas, a goldsmith from Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu.

Police have taken up a case of dowry harassment. They said Radha’s husband and in-laws were ill-treating her. She told her brother about the harassment, who brought her home from her in-laws’ place.

A dejected Radha consumed poison. After battling for two days in a hospital, she died, police said.
In another incident, a cab driver was found hanging at his house at Konanakunte in Subramanyapura. Police said Sidde Gowda, 33, who was upset with family problems, took the extreme step.

Chain snatched
Swarna, a resident of Rajajinagar III Stage, has in a complaint to the police, said that when she was walking in front of a bar on 17th Cross, Malleswaram, two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched her gold chain worth Rs 2.5 lakh and fled.

Miscreants snatched a bag containing jewellery worth Rs 1.2 lakh from Krishna, in front of ADA Ranga Mandira, around 4 pm on Monday.
