Renowned singer Janaki suffers head injury

Veteran playback singer S Janaki was injured today after she accidentally fell down in the bathroom of a hotel here where she was staying.

She was shifted to a hospital, where she had six stitches on her head. She is "perfectly alright", hospital sources said.

The 73-year-old singer was here to participate in a private programme.

Janaki has rendered several soul-stirring melodies in many languages, including Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil.
