A 45-year-old man was killed, while another person was seriously injured when their motorcycle hit a downed tree in Dilshad Garden area of north-east Delhi, police said on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Krishanpal, a resident of Jagatpuri, while the injured has been identified as Padam Prakash. The duo was returning home from Karkardooma area on Tuesday evening when the accident took place.
“We had received a call at police control room reporting that two people were seriously injured after an accident near Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. We rushed to the spot and took them to the hospital,” a senior police official said.
However, Krishanpal was declared brought dead by the doctors, while Padam is undergoing treatment.
People living in the locality claimed that the tree was cut years ago and has also caused many accidents in the past.
