Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda has proved that he is not fit to rule the State through his recent actions, former union minister and senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary opined.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Poojary said that the chief minister should have passed a resolution for the cancellation of membership of three former ministers Laxman Savadi, C C Patil and J Krishna Palemar- who were caught while watching porn clippings, if his government still has any morality.

‘Speaker also involved’Continuing his attack against Gowda, Poojary said that the Chief Minister acts as if nothing has happened and asked for the support of MLAs to defend the incident.

Stating that the issue is spreading like a wild fire beyond the boundaries of the nation, he said that the people of Karnataka have been facing embarrassment. Assembly Speaker Bhopaiah is still waiting for the proof to take action against the three. One of the accused Laxman Savadi agreed that he watched a video related to a ‘gang rape incident’.  “After admission of guilt, what else the Speaker needs?” Poojary questioned.

“It seems that the speaker has some other plans in mind to save the three former ministers. I can’t understand why speaker gave time till March 12 to submit the final report about the incident when everything happened in front of his eyes,” he expressed his displeasure.

Poojary demanded that the speaker should call special session on Monday and he should expel the tainted members. “All three should be treated as criminals and should be jailed for five years,” he added.

DV lost chance Poojary opined that Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda lost an opportunity to prove his worth to be a chief minister. Referring to ‘Rave party’ in Malpe, he said the CM knew that there was vulgarity in the event.

Media and people both protested against the fest. Still the chief minister tried to defend the function.  “The programme was conducted without the permission of local authority, but chief minister didn’t take any action against the deputy commissioner,” he regretted.

“D V Sadananda Gowda could not expand his cabinet for the last six months. He lost a chance to prove his worth. Now it is better to go for election,” he suggested. Congress leaders Vijay Kumar Shetty, Harikrishna Bantwal and Kallige Tharanath Shetty were present.

Why is Shobha mum?“Power Minister Shobha Karandlaje is the only lady minister in D V Sadananda Gowda’s ministry. Though such a big episode has taken place in the Assembly, she has not uttered a word. Is she waiting for former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s permission?” Poojary mocked.
