Taps in parts of City to go dry today

Water supply will be affected on February 10 and 11 in most parts of the City which receive supply from Cauvery II and III stages owing to a major repair work.

According to an official of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), maintenance work at TK Halli, Harohalli and Tataguni pumping stations will be taken up on the two days. The Board will also take up modification work at the 220 KV station in TK Halli, pertaining to Cauvery IV stage II phase project.

The project, expected to be commissioned by June this year, will supply an additional 500 million litres per day to the areas newly brought under the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.

The official said the pump-houses will be shut down on February 10 from 10 am to 6 pm and those areas which have their scheduled supply day on Friday may receive less or no water at all. The BWSSB has made arrangements to supply water through tankers in case of emergency needs. Water tankers can be requisitioned by calling the Board on 22238888 (call centre). Normal supply is expected to resume on February 12.

Water supply will be affected in Banashankari, Kumaraswamy Layout, Girinagar, Padmanabhanagar, Jayanagar 1st, 2nd, 6th , 7th and 8th Blocks, JP Nagar, VV Puram, Magadi Road, Mysore Road, Basavanagudi, Gandhi Bazaar, Banappa Park, Sudhamanagar, Pillanna Garden, Frazer Town, Machalibetta, Sarvagnanagar, Malleswaram, Yeshwantpur, Srirampura, Jayamahal, Kumara Park, Anandanagar, RT Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, New BEL Road, Vidyaranyapura, Sahakaranagar, Chikka Lalbagh, LLR (low level reservoir), HGR (High Grounds reservoir), Coles Park, Byrasandra, Shantinagar, Wilson Garden, HBR Layout, HRBR Layout, Lingarajapuram and Ramaswamypalya.
