While the construction for phase-3 of Metro network has already begun, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation awarded two more civil contracts for the third phase.

Larsen & Toubro has been awarded contract for construction of entire viaduct for the Faridabad corridor whereas the joint venture between L & T and Shanghai Urban Construction Group has bagged contract for construction of stations and tunnels between Mandi House and Jama Masjid.  “The 3.3 kilometre section between Mandi House and Jama Masjid will be completely underground. It will cover three stations - ITO, Delhi Gate and Jama Masjid. The work needs to be completed in 42 months,” said Anuj Dayal, CPRO, Delhi Metro.

“The Faridabad corridor is an extension of line 6. L & T will have to complete this project in 20 months,” he said.
