JOIN USA police sub-inspector and a constable fought with each other while on duty in Ripponpet of the taluk on Saturday.
PSI Thippeswamy and constable Veeresh were checking vehicles passing in front of the police station and the former allegedly abused Veeresh when the latter did not flag down trucks which were not loaded.
It is said the PSI abused the constable in singular and later assaulted him.
Soon a scuffle ensued between the two and passersby separated the fighting cops. Both sustained injuries and were treated at the government hospital.
Disciplinary action
Tirthahalli DySP D Shekhar has submitted a report to the Superintendent of Police recommending disciplinary action against the two.
The residents staged a snap stir, demanding transfer of the PSI, alleging that he was arrogant and did not co-operate with his subordinates.
