He was speaking at the inauguration of Yadava Kalyana Mantap and 19th Gokulashtami celebrations at Sante Maidan in Mulbagal on Sunday evening.

“Our society is composed of many castes which have specific functions in the society and are unique in themselves. Members of  all caste and tribes should strive for development,” Muniyappa added.

People belonging to the so called lower caste should have cordial relationships with upper caste people and should inculcate their good traits, expressed Muniyappa who said that though lord Krishna was born in a community like Yadava he became a beacon of light for entire human kind. By reading Bhagavat Gita every day one can move towards wisdom from ignorance, he added.

Rs 5 lakh grant

Muniyappa declared a grant of Rs 5 lakh for the development of Yadava Kalyana Mantap on the occasion.

MLA Amaresh promised to get assistance from the government if a hostel was opened for the students belonging to Yadava community.

Social worker Mandaal Muniyappa was felicitated on the occasion by former Social Welfare Department minister A Krishnappa.

The community students who had obtained high marks in SSLC and PU exams were also felicitated on the occasion.

Former minister R Srinivas, Kolar district Yadava Sangha President V Narayanaswamy, State Yadava Association Working President S Radhakrishna, Taluk Panchayat member C Raghupati, community leaders V Shankre Gowda, Ballam Ramakrishnappa, S V Venkatappa and others participated in the programme.
