After her appearance in Ganesh’s directorial Maleyali Jyotheyali, one didn’t see much of Anjana Sukhani in Kannada films.

But the bubbly actress says that it was because she shifted her focus to Bollywood again.

The actress, who was in the City recently as a showstopper at a fashion week, has no qualms admitting that her career growth has been slow but she is happy and satisfied even with the little work that she is doing.

“I am an ambitious girl and want to work with good production houses and do good cinema. But that doesn’t mean I will go around begging for work. Considering I come from a non-filmi background, I think I have done a pretty decent job,” she tells Metrolife.

With quite a few Bollywood projects in hand, Anjana is thrilled that she is working with the likes of Sanjay Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan and Ram Gopal Varma.

Playing Rana Daggubati’s love interest in the Ram Gopal Varma ‘Department’, Anjana says she has enjoyed herself shooting for the film. “It’s an out-and-out cop film. And I got to learn so much in this film especially from Ram Gopal Varma and Amitabh Bachchan,” she says.

Speaking about Ram Gopal, the actress describes him as “eccentric”. “I guess all geniuses are a bit eccentric. And I have always told him that. He is such a creative person and knows so much technically. It has been a pleasure to work for him,” she adds.

Apart from that, Anjana is also busy with ‘Maximum’ which stars Sonu Sood. “I can’t speak much about this movie but I am happy with the character offered to me by director Kabeer Kaushik and soon I will be starting a movie with Sanjay Dutt,” she says.

Anjana has a lot of pleasant memories about Sandalwood and says she would love to work again in Kannada. “I am looking forward to some good scripts in Kannada. I would like to work with Ganesh again.

I had so much fun with that team. But more than the cast or crew, good scripts matter the most to me and hopefully, I will continue getting good opportunities,” she sums up.
