Manasi Prasad to perform on Feb 19

Ganabharthi has organised a vocal music concert by Manasi Prasad on February 19 at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Adichunchanagiri road, Kuvempunagar here. She is accompanied by Adithi Krishnaprakash on violin and A Radhesh on mridanga. The concert is open to all interested, according to a press release.

Manasi Prasad is one of the rising stars among the new generation of young Karnatak musicians. Manasi was initiated into Karnatak classical vocal music and Bharatanatyam at the age of 5 and gave her maiden solo music concert at the age of 14 and also released her first audio cassette at that age. Her gurus in music include her mother Tara Prasad and R K Padmanabha. She has received musical guidance from Suguna Purushottaman, Janhavi Jayaprakash, Varadarangan, V Subramanyam, Sriram Parasuram and others.

As a performing artiste for over 15 years, Manasi has travelled extensively in her career, across India and the world. She has visited Germany, USA and Chile on invitation to give presentations on the Indian Arts at various universities. She is an empanelled artist of the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), and has also performed concerts in Cleveland at Thyagaraja Festival and other venues in USA, Singapore, West Asia and Africa, said the release from joint secretary T P Krishnakantha.
