A divorcee and mother of two young children has alleged that she was gangraped a few days ago and the police are yet to take action even after lodging a complaint.

The woman, a resident of South Kolkata, claimed that she has given the names of the people involved in the crime and the registration number vehicle in which she was raped.
In her complaint, she said that on February 4 night, a man offered her a lift as she came out of a night club at Park Street – a posh area of the city.

She turned down the offer and instead requested him to call a cab for her. As he insisted, she got into the car.

Immediately, five others got into the car. Before, she could raise her voice, she was threatened with a revolver. After commiting the offence, they pushed her out of the car, she alleged.

She lodged a complaint on February nine following an assurance from family members that they would stand by her. Out of fear, now she is staying in her grandmother’s house in Central Kolkata, she said.
