Two youths have conned a woman and made away with gold valuables worth Rs three lakh here on Thursday. Manjula wife of Shivappa, a resident of Srirampura second stage is the victim.
In her complaint to Vidyaranyapuram police, she has alleged that two youths speaking smattering of Kannada knocked on the door on Wednesday. They introduced themselves as gold and silver polishers. They also convinced the woman to give silver valuables for polishing. The two finished their job much to the satisfaction of the housewife.
On Thursday they returned to ask Manjula for the gold valuables if any to increase the glint of the same. Manjula who believed in them and gave gold ornaments weighing 120 grams in total. The two allegedly asked her to bring hot water to clean the articles. Manjula went inside and returned in a jiffy only to discover that she has been duped. A case has been registered.
