'I like mixing with strangers'

The much-hyped, much-awaited film, Nam Anna Don has released and what is still fresh in everyone’s minds is the way in which actor Ramesh went all out to market the film.

He took the announcement and the press conference of the film beyond four walls and out into the open — all in an attempt to connect with people.  “I am comfortable being around people and mixing with strangers. It is their appreciation and encouragement that has brought me thus far. Marketing the film on such a large scale was just an excuse to thank the people for all their support,” Ramesh tells Metrolife.

Ramesh literally travelled across South India to popularise his film. To begin with, there’s a Persian advertisement on the radio about the film.

“There are only four words in the song that are in English: the name of the film, its date of release and the cast. That’s all that I wanted people to know, anything more would take away the curiosity factor,” explains Ramesh.

Ramesh and his team went with jatres such as Badami Banashankari jatre in Badami, Yellamma jatre in Saundatti in Hubli and Mylari jatre in Shimoga.

“We even travelled to a beach in Mangalore with 7,000 children, went on a bike ride in Hassan, travelled by a bus in Tiptur and went on a skating marathon in Shimoga. Such was the overwhelming response we got from people,” adds Ramesh.
